His Excellency the Chairman of the Reconstruction Fund for Areas Affected by Terrorist Operations participates in the meeting of the International Stabilization Team in Iraq
His Excellency the Head of the Reconstruction Fund for Areas Affected by Terrorist Operations, Engineer Saad Amin Al-Jubouri, participated in the meeting of the International Stabilization Team in Iraq, which was held today under the co-chairmanship, represented by the Deputy Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Dr. Farhad Nimatullah Hussein, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Germany to Iraq, Ms. Christina Homann, and in the presence of representatives of diplomatic missions. Operating in Iraq and relevant government institutions.
The meeting reviewed a number of reports related to the file of the displaced, ensuring the safe and voluntary return of thousands of displaced people to their liberated governorates, and closing it permanently.
His Excellency the President of the Fund confirmed that the Council of Ministers had issued a decision regarding addressing the challenges related to displaced returnees. His Excellency pointed to the international efforts provided by the governments of donor countries, especially the German government, to support the requirements for restoring stability through the implementation of a number of projects and programs concerned with reconstruction and stability.
His Excellency revealed the service projects completed by the Fund from 2016 until 2023, especially in Sinjar District, and the amounts disbursed to these projects and sectors that were included from the federal investment budget, grants and loans.
His Excellency indicated that the projects were presented for the investment plan for the current year 2024, in addition to the sectors covered and the amounts allocated for the Sinjar district, which are double the total amounts disbursed to the district for the previous six years.
His Excellency added that the Fund is committed to the directives of the Prime Minister, Engineer Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, in order to accelerate the return of our displaced people and close the camps in compliance with the government program.
His Excellency explained that the team conducted an evaluation of its performance during the last period and a review of the projects and plans implemented in various sectors, with a focus on developing them to achieve the goals of the next stage.
