The engineering staff of the Reconstruction Fund for Areas Affected by Terrorist Operations completed a project to rehabilitate, treat and cover the two sides of the hill along with the street leading to the Muthanna Bridge in Nineveh, with a length of 2.5 kilometers and within the timings specified in the contract concluded with the implementing company.
Engineer Salem Yahya Othman, director of the Fund branch in Nineveh, explained that the rehabilitation work included clearing the street, treating the adjacent molds, building the main wall of the archaeological hill, pouring sidewalks for the facility, and covering the street with a 6 cm asphalt binder layer, noting that “the completion of the project also included” furnishing the street by performing traffic engineering, such as street planning and painting. Pavements and installing traffic signs, according to the inspection, technical specifications, and plans submitted by the Mosul Municipality, the beneficiary entity, and approved by the Fund’s headquarters.
It is worth noting that the Reconstruction Fund for Areas Affected by Terrorist Operations is implementing various service projects that include many sectors, including education, health, electricity, municipalities, and the interior, in addition to rehabilitating and promising the reconstruction of bridges and roads within the governorates (Anbar, Nineveh, Diyala, Kirkuk, in addition to the outskirts of Baghdad, Babylon Governorate). Which was damaged by terrorist operations during the era of ISIS crime.
