The Reconstruction Fund for Areas Affected by Terrorist Operations has completed 80% of the Shindokha Bridge rehabilitation project in Nineveh Governorate.
The Reconstruction Fund for Areas Affected by Terrorist Operations announced the completion of 80% of the Shindokha Bridge project, which consists of two spaces for the outbound lane and two spaces for the return lane, with a length of (24) meters for each space. It is located within the Al-Kasak-Rabia road and connects the Al-Kasak intersection with the Hakna area in the Tal Afar district, west of the governorate. Nineveh.
Engineer Mohamed Mohi, Director of the Engineering Department at the Fund’s headquarters, said that with continuous follow-up by His Excellency the President of the Fund, the engineering and technical personnel have begun rehabilitation work on the bridge, which included removing the damaged parts and treating them using special carbon fiber materials and installing rubber support supports, in addition to erecting pre-cast and pre-stressed concrete beams. The bridge deck and the bases of the retaining walls were poured with reinforced concrete, indicating that work is currently continuing to install the facades and complete the rest of the work.
It is noteworthy that the Shindokha Bridge was damaged as a result of military operations during the era of ISIS, including the upper structure consisting of concrete joists, 28 joists, and the roof, in addition to damage to the sidewalks, the cladding layer, and the iron fence.
